Internet Marketing Ninjas Blog

The first 2 months blogging – feedback?

I’ll be away Nov 13 – Nov 21, heading to the Webmasterworld conference, and then to the Grand Canyon to do some consulting with a client.

In my absense, I’m posting links to 15 of my favorite posts covering the past 2 months that I’ve been a blogger.

Feel free to leave feedback for me. I’m pretty new to blogging and posting my thoughts, and bound to make some blunders along the way.

What do you think of cursing in posts? Do you think words like "screw" sound too "unprofessional" (been accused of that). I’ve been accused of being arrogent too – do I come off as a piss head? Do you hate that I have rotten grammer and often have simple spelling errors? (nothing is proofread).   Any topics you’d like me to cover (might be hard, as most of my post were total "spur of the moment" writings (except DMOZ editor post where I actually spent more than 5 minutes writing)).

Having feedback from you the readers will help me to decide how I will write going forward. Your thoughts?

Change nothing. In the past 2 months I have learned more from this site then any other SEO related blog or forum. I don’t even like making comments on blogs but I had write letting you know you’ve done a fantastic job.

  2. Your doing a great job! You’ve managed to publish good SEO information, promote yourself & your business, and keep it all interesting at the same time. Keep up the good work!

  3. I don’t think you need to worry about using the word “screw”, or sounding unprofessional. Part of blogging (at least in my humble understanding) is being yourself, being transparent, and you seem to have nailed that. It might be a little different if you were dropping “F”-bombs all the time, but you’re not.

The only thing I’d like to see is more posts. That’s just an indicator of how much I dig your blog though.

  4. Hi Jim,

I read more and US SEM blogs as you have over there the quality content there we don’t have in France.
I’ve started with Seroundtable, then I found Stuntdubl, ThreadWatch.org, SEOmoz.org and a few more, but also SEOblackhat.com and Syndk8.co.uk (it’s in my nature, we have DarkSEOteam in France) and Davidnaylor.co.uk but since I’ve discovered your blog, I’ve found something different (which is verry imortant, not just another SEM blog) and of high value.
I’ve felt the same excitation as when I’ve first seen Seroundtable.
Your articles about Google love story for old sites, but also about the “death of the link pages and the value of the article pages” are musts every SEM should read.
You are sharing with us informations and analysys other SEM wouldn’t never share.
    Thanks.

    Alex
